Nashville isn’t just the home of country music – it’s also a filmmaker’s paradise. With its vibrant culture, iconic landmarks, and picturesque neighborhoods, Nashville offers an incredible variety of backdrops for video shoots, photography sessions, and film projects. Whether you’re a local creator or visiting for a shoot, you’ll find a mix of aesthetics that cater to any creative vision.
Top Filming Locations in Nashville
Treehouse Chapel at Stewards' Grove - I covered this location in our previous blog post, "Best Location Scouting Websites: The Ultimate Guide for Your Next Creative Photo/Video Shoot." Beautiful location but something to always consider with any space is POWER. I feel like we were able to capture a lot of fun shots there! Not only do they have the treehouse chapel, there is also a field area that would also make for some nice shots.
Little Cabin and a Creek - Overall, this is a super versatile space that I would highly recommend. Especially if you are a country music artist or something going for more of that rustic feel, this spot is it. With that said, something to note is that you absolutely 100% will be 4-wheel drive. At least at the time when we had booked it, that was not anywhere on the listing but would've been great to know ahead of time. If you are planning on booking, keep that in mind. It's definitely worth it once you get past the driveway!

It may also be a good idea to look for other local park areas further out of town that may be less populated with park-goers, especially during the week.

Nothing says Nashville like the neon lights and bustling atmosphere of Broadway. Ideal for capturing the city’s energetic nightlife or iconic music culture, this area adds vibrant energy to any shoot.
Permits and Regulations
Filming in Nashville often requires permits, especially for public spaces and historical sites. The Metropolitan Nashville Government issues permits for commercial shoots, and it’s crucial to check if your chosen location falls under their jurisdiction. Generally, permits are needed if you’re using professional equipment, blocking public areas, or shooting in parks.
To navigate the permitting process smoothly:
Plan ahead and apply for permits at least two weeks before your shoot.
Provide detailed information about your filming activities, equipment, and crew size.
Contact the Metro Nashville Film Office for guidance and to avoid last-minute complications.
